Tieftemperatur-Remissionsspektren oktaedrisch koordinierter Cu2+ -Ionen im Ligandenfeldbereich / Low temperature reflectance spectra of octahedrally …

1973

Abstract The ligand field reflectance spectra of octahedrally coordinated Cu2+-ions in different host lattices and at different temperature (300 °K - 4 °K) are critically compared. Especially the band shifts with decreasing temperature are analysed with respect to transitions from a dynamical to a static Jahn-Teller effect (macroscopic Jahn -Teller distortion of the lattice). In addition the square planar coordination of Cu2+ is discussed and alternative descriptions in the crystal field formalism and the angular overlap model are given.

Coordination of Cu2+ Ions to C2 Symmetric Pseudopeptides Derived from Valine

2010

The acid-base and coordination properties of a family of pseudopeptidic ligands with C(2) symmetry derived from valine (4a-e) have been studied using a variety of techniques as a model for metal coordination in peptides and proteins. The Cu(2+) cation has been selected for coordination studies, although, for comparison, some results for Zn(2+) are also presented. Good agreement has been obtained between the results obtained by potentiometric titrations, spectroscopic analysis, and mass spectrometry (ESI) studies. These results highlight the potential for the use of ESI MS for characterizing the nature of the complex species formed. Clearly, the Cu(2+) complexes are much more stable than the…

Rare Crystal Structure of Open Spirolactam Ring along with the Closed-Ring Form of a Rhodamine Derivative : Sensing of Cu2+ Ions from Spinach

2019

Crystal structures of a rhodamine derivative in its closed and open spirolactam ring forms were developed, which allows selective and sensitive detection of Cu2+ ions at a micromolar range in neutral medium. The chemosensing properties of the probe through a pentacoordinate Cu2+ ions were proven by spectroscopic and theoretical analysis. The spirolactam ring opening as the Cu2+selective sensor was applied to spinach (Spinacia oleracea) to estimate the accumulation of copper as copper(II) in the plant. peerReviewed
